10 DEC: Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined City brokers in fancy dress on the trading floor at a charity event. The royal couple were among the guests invited to attend the global financial firm ICAP's 23rd annual charity day. The event raises millions each year for charities that the duke and duchess are patrons of such as SkillForce, Place2Be and Sports Aid. Traders in London taught them how to close deals at the Central European interest rates desk. The duchess danced in celebration after the couple closed deals worth millions of euros over the phone. 10 DEC: The Rockettes tumble down in the "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" during the 2015 Radio City Christmas Spectacular at New York's famous Radio City Music Hall. The Christmas Spectacular has been hosted annually since 1933. The hall, which has seen some of the world's most famous performers grace its stage, underwent a $70m restoration in 1999 to return it to its original 1930s splendour. 9 DEC: #WEDNESDAYWOMAN – CELEBRATING THE ACHIEVEMENT OF PIONEERING WOMEN French photojournalist Françoise Demulder, of Gamma agency, became the first woman to win the prestigious World Press Photo of the Year in 1976, with a black and white picture of a Palestinian woman pleading with a gunman in Beirut. Demulder made her name covering the Vietnam War, staying in Saigon after many foreigners had been evacuated. Her work appeared internationally in such publications as Paris Match, Newsweek and Stern. Returning to Paris after a trip to Thailand and before receiving her prize in Amsterdam, Demulder was photographed on the Champs Elysees in 1977.
