8 DEC: This baby elephant had a lucky escape after getting into a tug of war with a hungry crocodile. The calf had been splashing around in the shallows of a watering hole in the African bush, when the croc launched out of the water and clamped down on its trunk. Against the odds, the tiny elephant managed to beat off the attack and stumble backwards to safety, as the croc moved back into the murky water.
